Some 25 joint personnel are seen dredging and cleaning up the one-kilometer-long water channel on Jalan Syech Nawawi Al Bantani.

Those personnel are from the Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency, Environment Sub-agency, Parks and Forestry for North Jakarta Water Body Waste Management Unit (UPSBA), and Semper Barat Urban Village PPSU.

Semper Barat Urban Village Acting Head, Rosiwan said the channel cleaning has been carried out in stages since (7/12) last week. The work started from crossing the Gubuk Genteng River to Kebon Baru Traffic Light.

"It is targeted to be completed in the forthcoming August," he expressed, Thursday (7/20).

He explained the channel varied in width from 50 centimeters to 1.5 meters with a depth of about one meter.

"To speed up it, we deployed a mini bechoe to the location," he stated.
