The West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency keeps speeding up the repair of the water channel on Jalan Jelambar B, RT 04/06, Jelambar Baru Urban Village, Grogol Petamburan Sub-district.

Grogol Petamburan Sub-district SDA Executing Unit's Water Channel Repair Coordinator, Amin expressed the channel repair on Jalan Jelambar B was carried out along 70 meters. It was realized after the residents' aspirantion made from the 2023 Musrenbang.

"The old channel was small and only 25 centimeters wide. That's why we repaired and increased its capacity," he expressed, Wednesday (7/5).

It has been ongoing since May 10, 2023, which is by replacing the old sheet pile using U-Ditch measuring 40x40 centimeters which is then covered with concrete blocks.

"This work has touched 90 percent so far and is targeted to be completed by the end of this July. It aims to accommodate water in large quantities and minimize inundation," he said.

RT 04/06 Chairman, Jelambar Baru Urban Village, Ari added the channel was previously smaller and tightly closed so it was difficult to clean. As a result, it caused inundation when it rained.

"Hopefully, our work today can make the area safe from inundation. We, the residents here, appreciate and thank you for the channel repairs that have been carried out," he stated.
