The Jakarta City Parks and Forest Agency is revitalizing the green belt on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, precisely in front of the United States (US) Embassy, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

Jakarta Parks and City Forests Agency Head, Bayu Meghantara said the green belt revitalization at the location was carried out along 171 meters with a width of two meters or 342 square meters.

"It has been started since June 9 by involving 55 personnel," he said, Monday (6/12).

He expressed the dozens of personnel deployed were divided into two shifts starting from 7 AM to 10 PM. In its revitalization, his party planted 21,288 polibek plants type ararea.

"7,500 plants have been planted and the rest 13,788 will be planted soon," he explained.

He hoped that it could beautify the aesthetics of the city and prevent the impact of climate change.

"My hope is locals can also look after and care such plants," he hoped.
