The Seribu Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency, transported 16 sacks of mud from the drainage control tank on Untung Jawa Island, South Seribu Islands.

Mud thickness varies from 30-50 centimeters

Seribu Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Hendri said the mud dredging was done in the context of maintenance of infiltration wells in three locations on Untung Jawa Island. It had been carried out from last Sunday (5/6).

"The first dredging is around Arsa Beach with seven sacks from spots of drainage control tanks. Then we continue to RT 01/02 with five sacks from seven spots and four sacks from five spots in RT 02/03," he expressed, Monday (5/8).

The dredging itself involved 20 workers using simple tools like hoes, shovels, buckets, and sacks. After being dredged, the water flow in the control tank could flow smoothly into the infiltration well.

"Mud thickness varies from 30-50 centimeters. To this day, the dredging is still continuing in other RTs," he stated.
