The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP)'s Marine Cultivation and Conservation Center (PBKL) is targeting to conduct aid distribution in the form of 60,000 fish seeds in this year.
We also want them (fishermen) to become fish cultivators too
PBKL's Sea Conversation Executing Unit Head Cecep Hermawan said, the aid is a form of partiality for fishermen in Thousand Islands thus they may further improve their welfare.
"We also want them (fishermen) to become fish cultivators too. Thus, when the weather is bad and can't go to the sea, they still have alternative sources of income," he expressed, Thursday (1/7).
He explained, the realization of the aid distribution last year could exceed the target set of 20,000 fish seeds.
"We manage to distribute 24,650 seeds. We send them through the Fish Cultivator Group (Pokdakan)," he stated.
