North Jakarta Mayor, Syamsudin Lologau began to intensify an anti-mosquito campaign (PSN) through urban village heads, sub-district heads, and RT/RW caretakers.

Locals must also be active by not littering or stockpiling garbage or cans that are no longer used

"Locals must also be active by not littering or stockpiling garbage or cans that are no longer used," he expressed, Wednesday (1/23).

Similar direction is also given to the health staff for providing the best care to residents who suffer dengue fever.

North Jakarta Health Sub-department Head, Helmi noted that dengue case in North Jakarta since 2016-2018 has decreased.

In 2016, its case was 2,821 and declined to 269 cases in 2018. And this year until January 18, its number reaches 13 cases.

Surely PSN is the most effective way to anticipate dengue. He also plans to socialize plants that are able to eradicate mosquitoes.

"We want to invite locals to cultivate plants that make mosquitoes afraid like lavender at home," he stated.
