Betawi Consultative Board (Bamus) Head, Zainuddin hopes Hajatan Betawi event could be an annual event.

Through this event, he said, Betawi public figures can meet each other and have a friendly meeting (silaturahmi).

"I am very welcoming this event. I hope this could be held routinely once a year," he said when attending this event at As-Syafiiyah Islamic University, Jalan Jatiwaringin Raya, Pondok Gede, East Jakarta, Saturday (11/11).

He added, many of Betawi icons such as gigi balang and ondel-ondel have been installed in each government office.

"Let us support and preserve Betawi culture by holding various Betawi cultures and arts events," he affirmed.

For information, Betawi Culture Institution Head, Tatang Hidayat and hundreds of visitors also enliven this Hajatan Betawi event.
