"As we know, scarcity can lead to inflation. Thus we want to intensify urban farming program using various technology. One of our target is to plant chili," stated Darjamuni, Jakarta KPKP Department Head, Wednesday (7/10).
According to him, chili's price is considered often to fluctuate significantly. Thus he hopes this method can fulfill Jakartan's need of chili and makes chili's price to be relatively stable.
"Recently, we try to develop hybrid chili plant cultivation on 1 hectare land in Ciangir, Tangerang, Banten. We predict to harvest about 5 tons of chili from that cultivation by the end of July," he explained.
Besides chili, his side also develops other national main commodities such as shallots, banan, and California papaya.
