Kebagusan Urban Village Office, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta accommodates takjil (desserts to break the fast) sellers by providing place in the office's yard for them to sell takjil. Those takjil sellers are allowed to sell after office hours.
" We allow them to sell takjil in our yard to avoid traffic jam"
Kebagusan Urban Village Head, Leo Harahap said, it is considered can reduce traffic jam around Jalan Kebagusan Kecil IV.
"There will be many people who park their vehicles illegally if they sell takjil on the roadside. So, we allow them to sell takjil in our yard to avoid traffic jam," he mentioned, Monday (5/13).
There are around 1-10 takjil sellers who sell on the office's yard everyday. Kebagusan Urban Village Administrators also lend them tables to put food on sale.
"They usually sell takjil after office hour until Maghrib (sunset) every day during Ramadan Month. Their takjil menus are also different with the other sellers," he conveyed.
Nurlila, one of the takjil sellers who is also resident of Ikhlas Alley RT 05/08 said, selling takjil during Ramadan Month improves her economy a lot.
"I sell side dishes, kolak, and asinan Betawi. Many people buy takjil in here. Usually it is almost out of stock around 3 PM. I can earn Rp 200-400 thousand per day," she explained.
