Jakarta KUKMP Dept. conducts monitoring of Indonesian National Standard (SNI) items in a number of shopping centers in the capital.

Jakarta KUKMP Dept. Head, Adi Ariantara disclosed that it is slated on November 12-16, 2018 in a bid to ensure products sold in shopping centers are safe for use by the public.
"Physically, all of our items are checked, even though they are SNI," he expressed, Thursday (12/15).
He mentioned that those shopping centers are in Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta and Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta. The SNI products examined are helmets, fans, gas cylinders, palm oil cooking oil and bottled water.
"It refers to Law No 8/1999 concerning Consumer Protection," he stated.
By so, producers can be responsible for goods sold to consumers.
"The purpose of this monitoring is not only to consumers. But also awareness for producers," he said.
