" there must be a role to educate children to love reading"
Jakarta Governor, Anie Baswedan said that the reading interest of children in Jakarta must continue to be increased. Therefore, the role of all parties is needed to realize it thus it can be a culture, especially among children.
"Good facility is needed, but there must be a role to educate children to love reading," he expressed, during Jakarta Children's Day (Hanjaba), at the Jakarta Library in Taman Ismail Marzuki area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (9/19).
He explained that the Library and Archives Dept. would keep making efforts and activities that can increase reading interest.
"We will hold activities simultaneously to encourage public interest in reading," he explained.
Every parent also has a very big role to arouse their children's wishes to read diligently.
"The parents must also be able to be an example of a movement to love reading. When reading has become a habit, so reading is a culture," he stated.
