Asian Games, City's Air Quality Continues to Be Improved

" We want people to really get used to using public transportation modes"

Jakarta Provincial Government continues to improve air quality in Jakarta to welcome the upcoming Asian Games.

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno stated motorcycle becomes one of the contributors to the occurrence of air pollution in the capital. Therefore, the city implements policies to minimize the use of private vehicles.

"We did even odd-even expansion, free Transjakarta services on weekends, and also closed dozens of schools. Not only to parse traffic jam, the most important is to improve air quality," he expressed, at City Hall, Monday (8/6).

He explained the use of mass transportation would also be applied for the Asian Games participants, journalists, and supporters.

"We want people to really get used to using public transportation modes. We will continue to appeal and work with the central government to improve air quality," he said.
