Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan mentioned, rice field in Jakarta is a part of ecosystem that must be maintained.
" I want people to be aware of this existence in the middle of modern life in City"
According to him, Jakarta has more than 300 hectares of rice field and people should take its benefit.
"Jakarta is a complete ecosystem. Let us take care of it," he expressed, after harvesting rice on Jl. Inspeksi Timur, Cakung Timur Urban Village, Cakung, East Jakarta, Tuesday (1/23).
He explained, this 3 hectares rice field can produce 5 tons of rice per hectares in average.
"I want people to be aware of this existence in the middle of modern life in City," he stated.
He added, there is synergy between Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) as the owner of this agricultural land with PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya about agricultural products processing.
"Through BUMD, rice can be processed and distributed to Jakartans," he conveyed.
